11 Months
Henry, you are eleven months old today! Wow! Taking your pictures this month was very...crazy to say the least. Trying to make you stay in one spot was impossible, but we did the best we could! There were many times that you almost went overboard ahh!!

You are so much fun these days! We love to watch what you'll do next. When you get really excited you crawl (um...charge) through your toys or towards Rouge and yell. It reminds me of that scene in Braveheart where all the men are charging towards each other and yelling. You can stand on your own without holding onto anything for about 4 seconds. You are cruising everywhere and on everything!
You are hearing the word, "no" a lot more often lately and you will usually obey us. You like to dump Rouge's food and water out of her bowls and no matter where we have hidden her bowls you will find them. Rouge seriously tattles on you, Henry. No joke. She sees you're heading towards her bowls and runs to find me. You also hear "no" when you start going through cabinets you're not supposed to be in. Or the stairs you keep trying to climb and the drawers I know you'll jam your finger on, and the list goes on...oh and the electrical cord you like to teeth on...at least for right now you obey us most of the time. :)

You give your Daddy and me sloppy, open mouth kisses on the cheek or nose. It's precious! Your favorite thing to do lately is be picked up for a hug and held for a while and go back and forth between us or to pull up on your tiptoes and get in our lap. We do this over and over again each day and whenever I get tired of it I pick you up even more because I know that one day you won't want to get in my lap or give me a hug so I'm getting them all in now! You can play peek-a-boo with us. You also shake your head back and forth to say no to something (so cute!)
You are into making friends with other babies and kids. You will spot another kid and smile at them and "talk" to them. I love seeing that you are a social baby! Whenever we pick you up from the nursery at church the ladies always tell me who you've made friends with and how happy you are! They usually tell me you're a flirt with the girls! Uh oh!

You LOVE to make anyone laugh. You really want to be a big boy and be part of things going on. We go back and forth "laughing" and you get the biggest kick out of it. You also LOVE to dance to any kind of music and will always look at me to make sure I'm dancing too. When you dance you rock back and forth and or if you're standing you bounce up and down. You will dance to a song or even the washing machine-- you just love sounds and rhythm. Sometimes you will surprise me because I won't even hear music playing in the background but you don't miss it!
You love our snuggle time after each of your naps (still two 30 minute naps a day). It usually takes you 30 minutes before you're ready to get down and play. We rock in your chair and sing Jesus Loves Me, This Little Light of Mine, Jesus Loves the Little Children, This is the Day, and the list goes on. When we read books together you will see ones on your side table that you would rather read and you will pick up which one you'd like to read instead. You keep your head on my shoulder until you wake up and then we read books until you're ready to get down. This is the time I soak up with you.

You say Ma Ma when you want or need something and you've said Da Da to Daddy several times. You love to babble in the mirror or in your carseat. You say "Dadadadadada" all the time and "Daht" a lot. You've also started saying "Ooge" whenever you see Rouge and want to play with her. It sounds like the last part of Rouge's name with the soft g. So we're pretty certain you're starting to say Rouge! You and Rouge are truly buddies. You will pick up one of her toys and try to give it to her. You enjoy watching her do anything and if you're in your highchair Rouge has no shame and will set there at attention waiting for food to drop. She makes you laugh all the time. You like to charge towards her and be rough when you get excited, but Rouge is good about just getting out of your way. I've also seen you start to be more gentle when you pet Rouge, which warms my heart. She loves to lick your feet and ears!
You have a new found love for Elmo and a hand puppet pig named Patty that comes on in between the shows on Sprout. You literally jump out of your seat and wave your arms, laugh, and smile whenever she comes on. She has a really high voice and I wonder what else it is about Patty that you love so much! You love your bunny that you sleep with each night. Its definitely your security bunny! You've started taking it out of your crib and will crawl around holding your bunny (which has a little blanket body) and you remind me so much of Linus with his blankie.

You love being outside and pulling up the grass and eating it or studying a leaf and crinkling it in your hands. You like to stare at the trees moving. If I sit you down in the grass you will stay in one spot and take everything in around you. You like to stick your thumb in little places on your toys and have learned how to use your thumb to push down on buttons on your toys or to slide toys. You love to hold a toy car and roll it around and I see you making toys out of everyday things and sliding them around like a toy car. You like to take things in and out of containers. You also love banging a metal bowl or pot with a wooden spoon and you will try the spoon on different surfaces to see how they sound. You love your wooden hammer and carry it around with you a lot.

You have 4 bottom middle teeth that you've had for a long time now and you have several teeth on the top and bottom that are coming in at the moment. I'd say you have 8-9 teeth coming in right now..ouch! You will sometimes run a fever with teething and we see all the other typical symptoms of teething, but you are sleeping a little longer than you used to at night so we're thankful for that! This is beside the point, but you have also started figuring out how to pick your nose! Ew!

So Henry you are now 11 months old! We can't believe how fast your first year is flying by and we're SO thankful for each day with you. We thank God for you, Henry, and love who you are and who we see you becoming. Happy 11 months!
