Around the House

(I know this one is blurry because he's 'on the go' but I thought it was still really sweet!)

(Cute story behind this one: Henry was so interested in seeing himself on the camera screen after I snapped a picture. I'd tell him who was in the picture and then I'd point to him and say "Henry". The next time I held the camera up to take his picture, he stood still--totally rare these days--stared at the camera (another rare thing) and slowly made this face to the camera. After I snapped the picture he hopped up and came over to me to see himself!)

Henry loves to carry his dogs and/or bunny around the house with him and plops down on his dogs to cuddle with them.

I truly have a little Linus running around my house now!

Henry's Bunny

Henry's Bunny is actually not the bunny that is in his monthly pictures. As special as that bunny is his real love is for his Bunny. OH my word he's loved that Bunny since he received it at 2-3 months from some of our family friends.

When I was pregnant with Henry, I always wondered what would become his "lovie". When I was little, I had monogrammed cloth diapers that I called Dipies for my lovies and Caleb had a bunny he loved named Ra Ra. Well, Henry decided his Bunny was his lovie from the moment he set eyes on it. He makes this certain sound when he sees his Bunny (it sounds like a crashing sound- also makes the same noise when he sees me and Rouge) and gets the biggest grin and buries his face into his Bunny.

He loves the little tabs on the corners and presses into each one rotating it around. He's also really into pointing to the eyes, nose, mouth, and ears on the Bunny's face and listening to me name the parts of Bunny's face. Now that he's walking, he carries his Bunny around with him everywhere. It's the sweetest sight I have ever seen. :)

Everyday.

Henry just looked so cute in his jammies the other day I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of him around the house. I know one day I will be SO thankful I have these pictures of him just doing everyday, ordinary things!

15 Months

Henry, your 15 months today! You have grown up right before our eyes and are keeping us busy! You took your first steps at 13 months and haven't stopped since! Your favorite pastime is walking all over the house while holding your bunny.

You like to come grab my finger and lead me around wherever you'd like to take me. We moved you up to the Walkers class in the church nursery. That was exciting and sentimental at the same time for your Mommy and Daddy. The ladies in the baby nursery are already missing you they say! You still enjoy playing in your room on your own and you like to go through all your books in your room and take out as many things from your dresser as possible. You pull down the bumper from your crib and reach in to grab your bunny and give him some love.

You have said chair, ball, book, hi, and car. This morning you signed 'more' and I asked if you wanted more and in a squeaky, high pitched voice you said "Moh!" You make a long k sound for kitty. Anytime you see Oreo (the kitty at my parent's house) you make that sound and walk after her. You are infatuated with Rouge and enjoy playing with her. Just yesterday we were watching Planet Earth: Mountains and you thought the bears and pumas were the funniest thing ever! Little did you know they were sneaking up to kill their prey...I would put a book over your eyes during that part, haha! But you really do love animals and I'm excited to see how that develops as you grow older.

You love to play in the pool although you have become so active it's hard to keep you in one spot! You love to play with your dump truck or any toy car for that matter and push them around on the floor. You enjoy dumping out anything from your dump truck. You can stack several blocks and enjoy pushing any tower down over and over again. Books are still your favorite pastime. You point out all the pictures and letters in the books. We read at least an hour every day. You love to be sung to. Lately you've enjoyed songs with hand motions like the Hokie Pokie, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and Do Your Ears Hang Low.

You have a new found love for Ernie and Grover on Sesame Street. Elmo used to be your only favorite, but he better watch out because Ernie is especially cool right now in your mind! You also enjoy watching Thomas. You like to clap or pat your legs to music. Bluegrass is a huge favorite of yours. I've seen you dancing without holding onto anything (slightly bending your knees and keeping your upper body completely still or swaying just your arms back and forth) in the middle of the floor when the music is on.

You are very interested when you see Mommy and Daddy praying before meals. Its so sweet to see you noticing that. You receive lots of praise even when you stumble and fall down because we know you were trying. You know to clap with us when one of us says 'yay' after a song is over. You don't let us forget it, haha. You've been doing this for a while, but I can't remember if I wrote about it- if I ask you "Where's your [insert toy, book, etc. here]?" you will go on the search for it and bring it to me. So cute.

Henry you're a true joy and blessing to us! Happy 15 months sweet boy!!
