Visit with Santa

Ok...I was kind of bummed. I had seen a local boutique advertise that Santa was going to visit their store so we all went over there. I thought Santa would be inside with a pretty backdrop behind him and it would be warm and cozy. When we drove up, Santa was outside the store chatting it up with some salespeople. We walk up, Santa sits down in his random armchair, I hand Henry his bunny, and Henry is completely distracted by all the trucks and cars whizzing back and forth that he takes no interest whatsoever in Santa. Next year, we'll visit him at the mall. :)

Henry's stool

Henry's little stool is such a precious keepsake for me! There's a sweet family in our church that I've known my whole life. Their middle daughter, a senior in high school, paints stools, trays, etc. and I was so thrilled when she agreed to make a stool for Henry. I had her paint a Bible verse around the sides that is on a cross in his nursery from Isaiah 43:1a, "He has called you by name; you are His."

20 Months

Henry, you are 20 months old. You love to play with trains and trucks all day long! You are such a fan of Thomas the Train shows and books. You started saying "Mama" and sometimes it sounds like "Maba" so cute!
You love to be read to and sung to and sweetly fall asleep in our laps when we sing to you at night. You love being outside. You love any big bus or truck that passes by and point and yell.
You've started signing a lot more and that makes it so easy to communicate. You love puzzles and are getting really good at them. You love crackers.
We'll be moving you to a larger room upstairs after Christmas and I know you will love the extra space.
You've started saying more letters. You can now identify all of the letters and say A, B, C, D, E, F, H, I, L, O, R, and S when you see them in books. We've taught you to say the letter sound to make it easier with reading. You are saying bye-bye all the time!
You love bath time! You love to be in the water and splash everywhere! It's your special time with Daddy each evening and you have the most fun together!

You are such a sweet boy, Henry. We love you to pieces! We're so thankful for you!

Decorating for Christmas!

I LOVE decorating for Christmas...so much so that I have a hard time packing it all away again. This was the morning I hosted our playgroup and so I thought I'd take a few pictures of the decorations before the kids came. I was so bummed when they left and I had no pictures of them! Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

Advent

Caleb and Henry watching Thomas while waiting for me to get ready for church...aren't they so handsome?? Goodness.

After lunch, we came back to the sanctuary to snap some Christmas pictures of Henry. Some of these make me laugh so hard...the lighting in the church was darker than I expected on some of these, but they're still cute. Something so sweet about our little boy learning about Jesus in the same place I did.
