19.5 Months

Henry, we've been so busy around here that I didn't get to do your 19 month post on time (or 18 month for that matter!) But you are 19.5 months old so I figured better late than never! Time is flying by and before I know you will be 2! Hard to believe.

You're so in love with life and discovering new things each day. I love to look at you from the rear view mirror and your face is so full of wonder at all the trucks, cars, bicycles, dogs, etc. that we pass by. Your way of seeing the world is SO refreshing! You are constantly pointing at things to find out what they are. You've grown taller since your 18 month appointment (34 inches at 18 months) and have no problem reaching on top of tables, cabinets, etc. Eek!! You try to climb everything.

You are more vocal this month than you've been in the past. Your favorite letter is O. Anytime you see an O or a circle you have to tell me what it is. You have a husky, low voice. You've started getting really excited when you tell us about the O and start saying "O-O-O-O!" You also say "OOOO" when you see something pretty or interesting. If you see a firetruck you say "whoo-whoo-whoo" because we have always said "whee-ooo whee-ooo" for a firetruck from one of your books. You're into saying Bababa and Lala at the top of your lungs. You know SO much it astounds me. You can point so much out in books. You've really taken off with signing this month and learn the sign after only a few times of showing it to you. I really haven't sat down and focused on teaching signs to you it's just something you've picked up. You can sign all done, more, eat, bath, hat, coat, book, and you made up your own sign for cracker. :) We still read at least 30 books a day!

Everything in your little world revolves around things with wheels. You are content to play all day with trains, planes, trucks, cars...you get the picture! You make sounds and line them all up and push them. It's so fun to get down on the floor with you and play! We can hear the train whistles from our house in the morning and you love that. You love to hold hands and are mastering the stairs. You are learning how to eat with a fork and spoon and I believe you're going to be right handed, but time will tell. You know a lot of words even though you aren't saying them and it's so easy to give you directions. You love puzzles and blocks. You still love Super Why, Sesame Street, and Curious George. You love to dance!

You are a joy, Henry and I'm so glad you're my little boy!
