You love to go to the library story time, playgroup, playdates with friends, MMO, visiting Grandmother, and time with Mommy, Daddy and Rouge, and visiting all your friends at church and going to Marbles. You are very social and love to be out and about with people. You love to be outside and listen to the birds and watch the trucks and cars and trains.
You are in a total Daddy phase right now! It's so fun. You ask about Da Da alllll day long. If Daddy's at work, you walk through the house saying "Da Da? Da Da?" looking for him. You love to read a book about a Daddy and his son. So precious! You love to "get Daddy" when he gets home from work--it's your favorite time of the day getting to wrestle with Daddy! He flips you up in the air and holds you by your ankles so you can 'scratch his back' and you laugh and laugh. You are tough because you really do try to 'get Daddy'.
You love to test your limits and try to see how far away you can get from us if we're out in public. You really don't like it when Mommy or Daddy has to grab your hand to keep you safe. You just want to run everywhere! We try to give you opportunities to get all your wiggles out each day which helps!
You've become a pickier eater lately and don't gobble down your veggies like you used to unless it's something you like. You learned how to dip your chips in salsa (it was a freshly made, very mild salsa) in a restaurant and loved it!
You hold hands with us when we pray before mealtimes instead of just looking at us when we tell you it's time to pray. It's the best feeling getting to hold your tiny little hand in prayer to our God. Nothing makes me happier than to see you so interested in prayer. Nothing. Thank you, Lord for that blessing!
You love to go through the "role call" with whoever is around you. Mama, Dada, Rouge. So cute! You even include Rouge. :) You love to be sweet to Rouge and try to give her love by putting your forehead to her head, but usually she's already run away. You like it when she chases you!
You made up your own sign to refer to Henry, baby, or boy. It's all the same sign. You put your open right hand over your mouth and go "ahh hee" anytime someone says your name or you see a baby or boy in a book. You have your own name for Grandmother- it used to be "oof", but now you've shortened it to "fff fff". You know the sign for fish. You randomly picked up saying "oww" if you get hurt. You say "uh oh" for anything if there's an uh oh.
You love to match things around you or in books. Things I never even notice until you point the out. You have started counting past twelve and got to 17 we think. There was a clear "ifteen" for 15 while you were playing. You're super smart and your teachers are always amazed at what you can do! You're Mommy's Big Helper! You help me around the house with cleaning up your toys and helping me dust and do laundry. You also enjoy helping me when we go to a restaurant by pushing the highchair (if it's on wheels) over to the table. You do a big boy wave now with your whole arm. I love seeing you do that! You know a lot of shapes- circle, triangle, rectangle, square, heart, star, oval, pentagon, trapezoid, and octagon. You like to match colors.
You love putting on your doctor's coat and playing with your doctor toys. We're hoping that will help the next time we visit the doctor for your 2 year appointment. You also have a fireman's coat and hat you like to wear around the house. You love blocks, trains, dinosaurs, trucks, cars, Bunny, books, balls, puzzles, Mr. Potato Head, bulldozer, pipe cleaners, airplanes, and your pretend tool kit. You also like seeing anything with wheels go down the slide in the backyard. You like to color and finger paint. You like to take the two small pillows off the couch and show one of us and count the pillows. You love to put your hands in your pockets like a little man. You also know how to take off your diaper..and sometimes I've found you with your shirt unbuttoned haha! You say "MMM" when something tastes yummy to you. You like to drink milk from a cup and you like to put the top on your sippy cup after you've had it from the cup and you can screw on the lid sometimes.You like to climb on your stepstools and look around from up high. :) You say "wee" when you go down a slide, hill, step down from the curb, or run down a ramp. You love jumping on the bed or the couch. You love Martha Speaks, Curious George, Cat in the Hat, Super Why, Sesame Street, and Clifford shows. You still love The Grinch from the 1960's. You're very curious and love to explore everything around you! You saw "ooo" when we ask you what a cow says and "arf arf" when we ask you what a dog says. When we ask you "Where are your muscles?" you put your arms up like a muscle man. So cute!
