Rebecca's 7th Birthday!
After we got back into town, Rebecca was having her birthday party! It was at Kenny's Gymnastics and the theme was Hannah Montana. Here are a couple of pictures Caleb took of the party table! Very fun!!

Emerald Isle
In August we joined my immediate and extended family for our annual trip to Emerald Isle! Most of my family could make it 23 out of 30 isn't too bad! I always look forward to this trip every year and treasure all the family memories made. We took Rouge along with us and she enjoyed the beach so much. Especially the freedom to dig to her hearts content- I wish we had taken pictures of the time she (a 5 lb. dog) dug a hole 2 feet deep! Enjoy these pictures I took on Caleb's phone throughout the week!

My Dad brought their Wii and we had a great time playing bowling (seen below), the boys got into boxing, and my personal fav was playing doubles with C in tennis! Some of us worked on this puzzle at night. At the end, the last piece was misplaced until Betsy heroically found the missing piece! Yay!

A favorite snack throughout the week was frozen grapes. They're very easy- simply put cleaned grapes into a freezer bag in the freezer! When you take them out of the freezer, let the grapes sit a little bit and they are like a grape slushie! MMMM...

My favorite time of the day on the beach was at dusk. It seems like everything slows down then and of course you can beat the heat that way. Mom and Dad joined us for a walk one evening and I couldn't resist the opportunity to snap a few pictures of these lovebirds! Aren't they cute?!

Emily and Rebecca enjoyed building sand castles, playing with Rouge, helping Grandmother cook, playing with puzzles, collecting sea shells, flying kites, the aquarium, and exploring the beach!

Caleb and I ventured out to explore more of our surroundings one afternoon and discovered Fort Macon. The beach was so flat you could see so far away. This is probably old news, but I didn't know dead Christmas trees were used to protect the dunes. Pretty cool.

Caleb and I had a couple of days at the end of the week when everyone had gone back to Raleigh for various reasons. We visited Beaufort and ate at the beloved Beaufort Grocery Company. If you look closely, you can see the wild horses that roam freely on certain parts of the beaches. We also had a great time playing putt-putt one evening and enjoyed visiting with extended family. Until next year!!

We returned from Emerald Isle on Saturday after a week of family, beach walks, and relaxation! I was faithful to take as many pictures as I could remember to...although there were times when I completely forgot. So I still have to get the pictures from C's phone, but wanted to let all you eager blog readers know I'm working on it! :)
This morning as Caleb was getting ready for work, he was walking around singing, "I loooove beach music..." and I couldn't help but feel a little sentimental remembering our lazy days at the beach. As this summer is coming to a rapid close, I'm remembering how much FUN we have had this whole summer. Its truly been a great summer from Sunday and Thursday night concerts, Steph's wedding, Emma Grace's birth, fun birthdays, weddings, loosing a dear friend but remembering whats truly important on this earth and awaiting our eternal future!!, a fun trip to TN, visiting the beach, going on mini road trips with Caleb, and many more events I'm sure I've left out.
All this to say, this summer was awesome and I'm really looking forward to making more memories in the Fall! (It's true...I'm ready for pumpkin scented candles and fall weather now!)

we just returned from visiting C's parents in TN and had an amazing time! we visited knoxville, cherokee national forest, tellico plains, and a trout hatchery! we enjoyed visiting with them so much and seeing his grandparents! we are up to our ears in yummy fresh produce from their garden and his grandparents' garden and it is surely summer in our household! we are looking forward to visiting again soon!!!

Merry Christmas from the Wrights!
Yea, Lord, we greet thee,
Born this happy morning;
Jesus, to thee be glory given!
Word of the Father,
Now in flesh appearing!
Oh, come, let us adore him,
Christ the Lord.
We adore HIM!

the stockings were hung by the chimney with care...
this Christmas we have a mantel! i have been so excited about having one in the new place since last year we didn't have one and therefore didn't get stockings. BUT this year we are all decked out with monogrammed stockings yay! last night we made the first fire of the season and enjoyed this new treat!
moving in
here are some random pictures of the beginning of our move.
this is the beginning of the wallpaper coming down in the kitchen. now the kitchen is SO CUTE! the colors are wedgwood blue, apple green, black, tan, and white i love the bright colors and its a lot happier than that wallpaper. we have all new appliances now too which is a nice face lift to the kitchen!

the beginning of moving out my massive (and c's normal) amount of clothes. this was too funny not to grab the camera and take a picture. can you tell that caleb has a lot of blue and green?

and finally we captured rouge's true feelings on all the painting we had to do! so glad that's over!! :)

Raleigh Christmas Parade
the Christmas parade is always an amazing time and we enjoyed it on fayetteville street this year. enjoy!
storytelling festival
here are some pictures of our trip to jonesborough, tn with my parents in october. we had an amazing time!! i always heard about my parents going to the festival and last year decided to go with my mom to see what all the fun was about. this year my dad and caleb were able to join us and what a fun trip it was!
we really enjoyed the quaint historic downtown area complete with boutiques and some precious b & b's. the storytellers were great too!
let me say first these are a hodge podge of pictures with only one good one, oh well! the last two we had the sun in our eyes and every time i look at i have to laugh and in the third picture, the camera slipped but i still thought i would post it because it showed the "badge" we all had to wear, which i'm sure the men loved sporting around!
if you want to know more about the festival go here and here to find out about the town where its held.
