Henry's Fan Club!

Caleb, can you believe we're parents? Can you believe this is our son? I still can't believe we've been given such a gift from God and have the opportunity to raise him. Who would have thought the first time you caught my eye sitting a few rocking chairs down from me at a Crusade retreat I was looking into the eyes of the father of my firstborn child. God knew. Thank you for giving me such a beautiful boy and for making my dreams of being a mother come true, I love you all the days.

Peaceful

The first time I saw Henry he had his bright eyes open ready to see the world before him. The doctor held him up over the blue curtain and Caleb and I were instantly in love. He was immediately taken to another room (with his Daddy close behind) to get all cleaned up. I'm so thankful for these pictures because it was a part of Henry's first moments that I didn't get to experience in person. After I was ready to join Henry and Caleb in recovery, they wheeled me in right next to where Henry was getting his first check up. Caleb was able to stand right next to him and capture these pictures. He definitely let out some good cries in the operating room, but one thing I distinctly remember about Henry was how peaceful and laid back he was during this time of poking and prodding. He made some of the sweetest cooing sounds and just let the nurse do what she needed to without much protest. He's been laid back from the start and a very sweet baby.

We are so thankful for the doctors and nurses that took such good care of all of us during our stay at Rex and for the safe delivery of our son after 26 hours of labor and an unplanned cesarean section. God is SO good and has a perfect plan.

39 weeks!

How far along? 39 weeks, 6 days

Total weight gain: 35.08 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Yes

Stretch marks? A few.

Sleep: I've really soaked up a lot more sleep this past week and taken a lot more naps than I usually do.

Best moment this week: Spending time enjoying the little things in life- signs of Spring, good conversations with C, actually enjoying couponing a lot, spending time with family, lunch date with Ash and EG, taking all the time I want browsing through Target, and cuddling with Rouge.

Worst moment this week: Feeling tired and slow, but then I always seem to bounce right back so it hasn't been too bad! Thankful to still have so much energy at this point.

Movement: All the time!

Food cravings: Ice, sushi, chocolate, turkey, and milk.

Labor Signs: As of Monday, I'm 1.5-2 cm dilated and 70% effaced. Same waiting game as before! We have an appointment scheduled for next Monday just in case he hasn't come by then and at that point they will discuss induction. My tummy is 38 cm and the doctor said that Henry should weigh between 7.5-8 lbs. at this point. So we're excited to see what the future holds for us!

Belly Button in or out? In, but way flatter than the last week.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Milestones: Getting through this week!

Looking forward to next week: A very special someone's due date is tomorrow!!
