Emerald Isle (from July)

Every summer we go to EI as much as we can. We love how peaceful it is there. These pictures were on C's iphone and I just found them and wanted to post them. The first picture is from one of our walks on the beach at dusk (my favorite time to walk out there). We took these at the Pine Knoll Shores aquarium when we went with Taylor, Betsy, Emily, and Rebecca. We had so much fun with them and it was nice to be out of the heat for a little while!

This one above of Emily seriously looks like it should be in an Anne Geddes calendar!

Fabrik Agency

Caleb started a new job about a month ago as the Senior Web Developer at Fabrik Agency (FA) in downtown Raleigh. I'll let C post about the specifics of his job, but here's the office on his first day there. I'll post more up to date pics of the rest of the office soon. Just a sneak peek!

Caleb's desk on the first day. More pictures to come!!

A little nature, a bit emo, and a great guy's camera

There is a lake behind our place and we usually take walks on the trails after dinner. There are always beautiful sunsets. These pictures are from C's iPhone and I'm always impressed with the camera, which takes really good pictures in my humble opinion and its so convenient!
Caleb made me take this emo picture....so I agreed, haha.

This picture was just after it had rained and we thought these puddles looked so awesome.
A bit emo.

Our Rouge

Well of course I wouldn't leave you faithful blog readers without more pics of our new puppy, Rouge! She is such a fun dog and has adjusted really, really well. When they weighed her at the breeder she was at 1lb., 9 oz. Her favorite toys are our toes (...), her hot pink towel that she proudly pounces around, and a couple of cute chew toys.

She doesn't whimper much at night and falls right to sleep in her crate and is making the first steps in being potty trained. Her little "bark" is a squeak its precious. She loves to snuggle but is FULL of spunk at the same time.

This was taken on her first day on the way back to Cary.
When Rouge runs it looks more like a Bambi hop. :)

Exciting news!!

So what's the news?? For our 1 year anniversary we had planned on going to Charleston this Saturday-Tuesday, but since Hanna decided to 'rain on our parade' (good pun I know...) we had to cancel our plans last night in order to get the full refund on the hotel. So all that sounds depressing....but here's the GOOD NEWS on Saturday we're going to Charlotte for the morning to......

Bring home our new puppy!!
Meet Rouge. She's a 10 wk. old Yorkiepoo weighing in at a whopping 2 lbs. and isn't expected to weigh more than 3-5 lbs. by the time she's all grown up! This is the only picture I have of her off right now, but will definitely take more pics once she's home!!

So here's how it all went down....we already put down a deposit earlier but didn't plan to get her until November because we were saving up for two upcoming trips this Fall. But now because we had to cancel one trip, we can finally bring Rouge home this weekend instead of waiting two long months as well as enjoy some other fun things on our anniversary as well!! This is definitely going to be "my dog" and Caleb will be getting his "man dog" after we get a house someday so don't doubt his manliness haha.

I'm SO excited!!

I have got to find my camera....

....because this blog is getting boring. The wedding last weekend was amazing and we had a blast marrying them off! Again, I absolutely love the Washington Duke Inn where they got married and want to go back really soon! Maybe I can borrow someone's pictures to post on here?

Caleb's first week at his job has been very exciting, but I'll let him write about that among another embarrassing experience for him. :)

We had a bit of a scare with our youngest niece who had a seizure from a high fever this week and was hospitalized overnight. But everything is just fine now and we are so thankful!

Tonight Caleb and I are going on a double date with a 9 and 7 year old. No really we're just taking Kathryn and Taylor (look at the April post) out for a movie and dinner since they are moving to Minnesota next week. WOW!! I'm dreading next week when they leave....for those who don't know their mom was my 1st grade teacher and I've been watching those kids since the oldest was a newborn. I always loved being at their house throughout the years- it felt like such a haven when my life was busier and school was hectic. We so enjoyed having them in our wedding. They are such fun kids and we are going to miss them!!

Well, that's all for now...enjoy your weekend!
