Looking back on 32 weeks

How far along? Technically I'm 33 weeks, 1 day but for this post you can imagine I'm a measly 32 weeks. :)

Total weight gain: 26 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Yes!

Stretch marks? Nothing new.

Sleep: Still sleeping regularly although I keep waking up really early because I'm too excited to start the day and accomplish something to get any sleep in. :)

Best moment this week: Waking up to our second (or third?) snow of the year. Our trip to Ikea and Pottery Barn outlet on Saturday and Valentine's day of course! Caleb and I had a great time this year! *Some pictures to follow shortly!

Worst moment this week: Hmm...can't think of anything honestly.

Movement: You bet! He is a moving machine.

Food cravings: Ice, sushi, chocolate, turkey (from Jersey Mike's done "Mike's Way"--already planning on having it in the hospital once he's born! I've been craving it since July.)

Labor Signs: None as far as I know.

Belly Button in or out? In, but a little flatter than the last week.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Milestones: The only thing left in his nursery is to put up the purchased curtains and shelves, and purchase my chair. Crazy.

Looking forward to next week: My first baby shower on the 20th!

32 week appointment

Wow, we are one grateful little family I can tell you that! We had another successful doctors appointment yesterday morning. All my "stats" are still healthy and looking good and Henry's heartbeat is still very strong and healthy. He's measuring a little larger than average, only by a little centimeter or two, so the doctor wasn't concerned since he's been measuring a tad larger for the whole pregnancy. She also felt around and determined again that he is indeed head down and she was talking through this and said "Oh, there's his little butt.." and I respond, "NO WAY!! Where is it??" I was so excited, can you tell? She directs me to where it is and says, "Do you feel that knot? That's his bottom!" I felt around and thought I may have felt something but I wasn't entirely sure. I was just so excited to know a little more about this boy inside of me! I never thought I'd be so excited about a little bottom, but in true new mom fashion I'm totally thrilled! Praise God for our little boy! :)

I also went through some of my questions (intense back pain, craving ice, etc.) with the doctor and what we got out of it is that "this is just the way it is right now" but she did give us some good tips. I"m honestly ok with the fact that "this is how it is" for this season of my life. It will pass all too quickly and Caleb and I definitely know that!

In other news...we're getting ready to enjoy our last Valentine's Day pre-kid (but who am I kidding? He's with me wherever I go, haha!) Caleb's been planning all week long, as have I, but it will be a surprise to one another come Sunday! I do know that he got us tickets for the movie Valentine's Day but, because my husband knows me well, the tickets are for tonight since I always like to see a new movie on its opening day. Kind of like when you open a fresh toothbrush out of its package-its clean, the bristles are crisp, and its ready for you to use. That's how I like my movies! SO...all that to say...we are so thankful for Henry's good health report and looking forward to a fun Valentine filled weekend! :)

Henry's new walls!

Here are pictures from the night Caleb painted Henry's room! The lattice is only on one wall (his crib will sit in front of the lattice wall) I'm SO happy with how it came out! The blue is a very, very light blue which I can't tell if it shows up differently on the camera because of the yellowish light on the ceiling we are going to replace, but its very cute! The last two are from the next morning.

Look for more nursery updates to come soon! :)

SNOW!

A couple of weeks ago we had a snow storm that gave us about 5 inches!

This picture was taken at 30 weeks in Henry's nursery (pre-paint of course!)

Christmas pictures I forgot to post...

Even though Christmas was a LOOOOONG time ago I realized today I never put these pictures up and wanted to make sure I documented our first Christmas together in our new house! Enjoy!

31 weeks

How far along? 31 weeks, 5 days

Total weight gain: 23.4 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Yes, and I can definitely tell my normal clothes that were stretching my maternity wardrobe aren't as roomy as they used to be.

Stretch marks? Nothing new.

Sleep: Still sleeping well. Took two naps on Saturday after having a full night's sleep on top of that! I read somewhere this week that being able to sleep well throughout pregnancy will help me during labor--who knows if thats true, but I'll take anything to help!

Best moment this week: Oh my goodness. Receiving the PB Kids catalogue in the mail last week was exciting for me (I never thought I'd get that excited about a catalogue...) But literally the best moment this week was walking into Henry's freshly painted nursery. My JAW dropped when I saw how sweet it looked and I was very close to crying. I mean its a wall, but y'all really need to see its cuteness. Which reminds me I need to put up the pictures. My husband did good! He's putting the furniture together this week and I'm so excited! Enjoyed an awesome date night with C Friday night...love him!!!

Worst moment this week: Nothing new in that department except for feeling weak and exhausted in waves each day and some very painful back pain all day. Have I mentioned I'm redady to have this boy???

Movement: Yes! On Saturday night I went to dinner and a movie with the girls and during the movie he was moving all over the place even more so than usual! Steph was even able to feel Henry kick for the first time! Wouldn't that be so exciting if he was moving so much because he could finally hear sounds around him?!

Food cravings: Ice, sushi, chocolate, turkey, and MILK.

Labor Signs: None as far as I know.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Milestones: Nursery painted, furniture arrived and ready to be put together, and found the cutest curtains, lamp, and side table for his room.

Looking forward to next week: 32 week appointment on Thursday and Craft Club dinner with the girls!

A sneak peek...

Into our inspiration for Henry's nursery! Just add in some apple green and there you go!

Looking back on 30 weeks

How far along? 30 weeks

Total weight gain: 23.4 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Um, yes almost exclusively.

Stretch marks? Nothing new.

Sleep: Yes! I have noticed I get so much more tired than I used to and have to lie down and nap. Which is unusual for me since I have never been a huge nap taker anyway. But I must really need the sleep because I'm still sleeping very well!

Best moment this week: Thinking about Caleb getting to play with his little boy in the backyard. :) Having another successful doctors appointment on Wednesday (see post below)! Enjoying all our SNOW over the weekend--5 inches!

Worst moment this week: Still having a good amount of weakness that comes in waves throughout each day and fighting nausea off and on, but its somewhat manageable if I can rest right away. Having a painful stomach bug yesterday...I'll definitely spare you the details!

Movement: Yes, one day I pressed down where Henry had been kicking me and he actually kicked back again at the same time right where my hand was. It was the best feeling ever to "make contact" with him for the first time! He is definitely a kicker and is kicking a lot harder these days, but at the same time, I thank God for the pain I have because I have the comfort of knowing that he has healthy legs and arms that are strong!

Food cravings: Ice, sushi, chocolate, eggs, and turkey. This seems like such a random list of cravings to me.

Labor Signs: None as far as I know.

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Milestones: Getting some big things crossed off our list for Henry's arrival!

Looking forward to next week: Making progress in his sweet nursery!

Get out the shovel...

IT LOOKS LIKE SNOW! Anyone in my family recognize that? Hint: a very loud stuffed snowman that only comes out of hiding in the winter and wears big sunglasses circa the late 90's.

So we're about to get 5-10 inches of snow starting tonight and lasting up to 24 hours and I am so ready to watch it come down from inside. Yes, its true I really only prefer snow when I can watch it from inside with a hot cup of tea and occasionally step out for a walk. I can't help it! I can already feel the nesting instinct settling in so its probably a good thing I'm ready to stay inside for a while. :)

Here are my top three snow must haves:

Harney & Sons Tea

Southern Lady Magazine. My absolute favorite thing to curl up with on any day!

Practically anything that comes on His Radio.

So...whether you love being out in that cold, slushy white stuff OR if you're like me and prefer to keep your toes dry and warm inside...ENJOY!!

30 week appointment

Wow, we've finally reached that milestone of having appointments every two weeks. Hard. To. Believe. This boy is on his way! We had an appointment this past Wednesday that went very well. Henry is measuring correctly (they were able to tell because they measured my torso) and his heartbeat is still sounding healthy and strong, praise God!!

They also told me I passed my glucose test with flying colors and my blood pressure is still nice and low. I stepped on the scale as usual (and no I will not share what it said, haha!) and was expecting to have gained a couple of pounds because I (Henry) definitely had a growth spurt last weekend, but to my surprise I had only gained .04 ounces! But there is no doubt in my mind he has grown and it feels like a lot!

But I just feel so blessed to have another smooth appointment and that our little boy is healthy! Praise Him from whom all blessings flow!!
